De Buwepleats is one of the oldest preserved farmhouses in Friesland. The original Harlingen tiles, the hewn beams and the baroque cabinet wall were left intact during restoration.
The three apartments are furnished for comfort with respect for what already existed. For centuries this has been a place for living, working and life — and you can still feel that history.

In 2011, I left Wageningen for Drogeham to restore a run-down historic farmhouse. What followed was a years-long project — the foundation of everything De Buwepleats is today. Not a standard accommodation, but a place where everything revolves around attention, atmosphere and connection.
